Pest Management for Beekeepers is one of the most important workshops you can take for a new beekeeper. There are many pests and unexpected events in nature that take place when dealing with a beehive.
This 3 hour workshop is designed to walk you through the pests you may encounter throughout the beekeeping year as well as the different treatments that go along with keeping bees. Treatments can varry from mechanical to organic to hard and soft chemicals. Understanding these methods, tests and the pests themselves will give you and your apiary the best chance at survival. Working with these treatments for the first time can be daunting when we are considering whether to vaoporize, use strips, traps, or do nothing?! This workshop will help you navigate those questions to find the best options for your hive setup and apiary practices as well as how these choices can affect the health of our bees and neighboring bees.
**Snacks will be provided and a brief intermission will take place mid workshop to stretch our legs!
